Associate Membership

Associate membership is offered in two tiers, entry level and full Associate membership

You can join IMS as an entry level Associate Member for a fee of £10 per year. This would give you:

  • participation in live webinars and access to archived sessions
  • online access to educational slide kits
  • online access to global position statements
  • online access to World Menopause Day campaign materials
  • online access to press statements when the Society reacts promptly to new data giving expert opinion on the implications and guidance for members

At the time of registration, for an additional £20 per year, you could be made a full Associate member which offers additional benefits such as:

  • Online subscription to Climacteric, the Offical Journal of the Society which is published six times per year, in February, April, June, August, October and December, plus Supplements from time to time. 
  • Free attendance at our pre World Congress workshop for strictly limited numbers
  • An Associate Member certificate suitable for framing.

Full membership of IMS

At any time an Associate member can upgrade their membership to become a full member of IMS for an additional payment.  The benefits of this include:

  • Subscription to Climacteric

Full membership provides both online and paper versions of Climacteric, the Official Journal of the Society, which currently has a five year impact rating of 2.492. Through the full members’ section, access is available to the online version of Climacteric. Members can read and download for their own use all the papers published in the journal since it began in 1998. The most recent issue of Climacteric can be found online prior to the paper version being published.

  • Reduced registration fee for the World Congress on Menopause

Full Members pay a reduced registration fee for the biennial World Congress on Menopause.

  • Research Bursaries

Bursaries are available for young researchers especially in countries where opportunities for research and funding are limited.

  • Membership role in the governance of The Society

Only full membership gives personal eligibility for nomination to the IMS Board of Trustees and voting rights to choose from nominated candidates to form the IMS Board of Trustees. Voting rights to decide governance issues are also only given to full members, such as changes to the Society Constitution, selection of venues for World Congresses and any other key activity for the Society which requires a membership vote.

  • Online communications include:

Menopause Live -this much valued e-service provides regular IMS Update commentaries on recently published papers by IMS members for IMS members.
Our Menopause World- this e-service provides monthly literature reviews and news of menopause activities worldwide.
InFocus offers, several times a year via e-mail, short overviews on themes that have recently been discussed and debated and that may be of interest to members of the Society.

  • Educational Activities

Members of the Society are invited to various educational activities being held around the world annually.

  • The IMS website

Although many of the pages of the IMS website (www.imsociety.org) are open to all, members receive a membership username and password to access the dedicated full members’ section, where educational material for free download and the archive issues of Menopause Live, Our Menopause World and InFocus can be found.

  • Press statements

. These are sent to members by e-mail as well as to the world press agencies so that the IMS view is rapidly and widely disseminated.

  • An Annual Certificate of Full Membership (suitable for framing)
