David F. Archer, MDMy last three years as a member of the IMS Board have been a positive experience for me. The Board represents the membership and it has made positive decisions regarding the Society. I know that there are significant changes taking place today in the funding and management of national, regional, and international medical educational organizations. These changes, both external and internal, will impact on the success or failure of any organization. I was actively involved in the IMS strategic planning meeting held in 2010. I am firmly committed to implementing the strategies that were identified at this meeting. I strongly believe that an increased membership, a plan for investing capital, and improving the delivery and content of medical education for both Physicians and consumers will contribute to the continued success of the IMS. I am committed to the development and implementation of a continued strategic planning process for the IMS in order to assure its position as a preeminent society providing education to Physicians and consumers.
