Dr Nappi’s major interest is focused on psychoneuroendocrinology of female reproductive life and women’s sexuality. She has published more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals and international books and 5 scientific books (as author or co-author). She is past president of the International Society for the Study of Women Sexual Health (ISSWSH) (2007-2008) and member of the Board (2008–2014) of the International Menopause Society (IMS).

Other activities include: reviewer for a large number of national and international peer-reviewed journals in the field of reproductive endocrinology, menopause, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, neuroendocrinology, sexology, urology - Consulting Editor of the section “Neuroendocrinology” of the international journal “Functional Neurology” - Member of the editorial board of the Journal of Sexual and Relationship Therapy - Active member of several national and International societies in the field of gynecological endocrinology, neuroendocrinology, menopause and sexuality [currently board member of Italian Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE Italia), the Italian Society of Gynaecology of the Elderly (SIGITE), the Italian Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SIPGO) and treasurer of the Lumbardy Society of Obstetric and Gynecology (SLOG)] - Member of the University Centre Consortium for Adaptive Disorders and HeadPain(UCADH, Pavia, Italy) – Board member of the Master in clinical sexology (University of Pisa, Italy) - Principal investigator in a large number of clinical trials (Phase III/Phase IV) in several areas of women’s well-being (contraception, menopause, migraine, PMS, sexuality) with different drugs (hormones, triptans, psychoactive agents, etc.) - Member of numerous advisory boards in the field of menopause/HRT, contraception and women’s sexuality - Invited speaker in a high number of national and international meetings to give lectures in the fields of interest and to present original results from her own studies or from large international trials - Organizer and co-organizer of several meetings and courses in the fields of gynecological endocrinology, physiopathology of reproduction, obstetrics and gynecology and sexology - Promoter of activities for divulgation in the field of women’s health, particularly on the topic of contraception, menopause and sexuality.
