Professor Susan Davis

Professor Susan Davis is an NHMRC Principal Research Fellow and Chair of Women’s Health at Monash University Melbourne (since 2005). She was a founder of the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women in Australia and was Director of Research of the Foundation from 1997 until 2005. She is a practicing endocrinologist and leads a research team at Monash University. This group undertake research spanning basic, clinical and population health research to progress the understanding of the roles of oestrogens and androgens in the modulations of breast cancer, cardiovascular function, body composition and fat metabolism, cognitive function and mood, sexual function and bone and cartilage health. She is a past President of the Australasian Menopause Society and has been the recipient of a number of research awards, most recently the Henry Burger Prize of the International Menopause Society awarded in Rome 2011.
