He is currently working at the Panoroma MediClinic, Cape Town, South Africa, as a consultant gynecologist with a special interest in menopause and osteoporosis. Additional clinical responsibilities include the management of an osteoporosis clinic as well as the directorship of the Clintrial Centre for Clinical Research that is involved in various international clinical trials in the field of menopause, osteoporosis and general gynecology. The clinical routine is complemented by academic responsibilities as an honorary consultant of the Department of Gynecology, University of Stellenbosch. Dr de Villiers is the author of various educational articles and original scientific papers on menopause and osteoporosis.
