As 2020 comes to an end, I would like to thank all those who have made the generous effort to offer expert commentaries in menopausal medicine and women’s midlife health to IMS members through Menopause Live.
In the past year, 34 bulletins were issued covering topics from premature ovarian insufficiency to cardiovascular, metabolic, neurologic, musculoskeletal, urogenital and sexual health in postmenopausal women as well as novel hormonal and non-hormonal therapies for the treatment of menopausal symptoms.
The IMS Board is also always on the alert for new and important research in menopausal medicine and eager to translate new findings into clinically relevant messages. A critique was recently presented on the “Use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and risk of breast cancer: nested case-control studies using the QResearch and CPRD databases.”
Clinical case reports were contributed this past year featuring perimenopausal patients with progesterone sensitivity, migraine headache, endometriosis. In 2020, Menopause Live also worked to highlight select peer-reviewed articles published in the IMS scientific journal, Climacteric.
I want to thank Susan Davis, IMS Past President, Rod Baber, Editor.-in-Chief of Climacteric, the IMS Board Members, as well as Rebecca Cheshire and Jean Wright, for their continued support.
May 2021 be filled with good health and great personal and professional achievements for all of you.
