Dr. Allen grew up in Columbia, SC, where she attended the University of South Carolina Honors College and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then continued her studies at the Medical University of South Carolina and received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2010. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia and joined the General ObGyn faculty division at Augusta University in 2014. She is board certified and has a special interest in menopause and midlife health, as well as gynecologic surgery. Dr. Allen is one of only a few Menopause Society Certified Practitioners in the CSRA. She is a member of The Menopause Society and International Menopause Society and serves on the IMS Education Committee.
Dr. Allen has served as the Residency Program Director since 2020 and participates on many committees at the departmental, institutional, and state levels. She has a passion for leadership and teaching and has completed a Teaching Scholars fellowship through the Educational Innovation Institute at AU, as well as the APGO Scholars and Leaders program. She has won numerous local and national teaching awards (APGO, ACOG, MCG Exemplary Teaching awards 2016-present).
Dr. Allen attends Abilene Baptist Church and resides in Evans, GA with her husband, an Emergency Medicine physician, and her three children.
