The International Menopause Society (IMS) established the Council of Affiliated Menopause Societies (CAMS) to support the delivery of the Society’s Mission and Vision. CAMS is comprised of national and regional menopause societies. CAMS also provides support to establish menopause societies in areas where there are none.

CAMS has the following objectives:

  1. To establish connectivity and partnership working across the national and regional menopause societies and with the IMS.
  2. To actively engage in the delivery of IMS educational activities, events and World Congress, to support the development of new initiatives, and to encourage membership to the IMS within their country/region.

About MMS


The Malaysian Menopause Society aims to promote education on menopause and all its related disorders, create a forum for the discussion of the problems associated with menopause, promote the teaching of its discipline throughout Malaysia and its neighbours and improve the standard of clinical care of menopausal problems.

The Society’s vision is to:

  • Facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to menopausal problems
  • Liaise with various colleges and other interested societies to assist in these aims
  • Liaise with similar groups internationally both to disseminate knowledge and study menopause and its climacteric
  • Consider all questions affecting the interests of the Society, including any legislative or other measures concerned with menopause that are directly related to the interests of the Society or its members
  • Confer or correspond with any associations, institutions, society or body or individuals whether incorporated or otherwise

Executive


President

Dr. Ho Choon Moy is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Pantai Hospital Cheras in Kuala Lumpur. She is the President of the Malaysian Menopause Society, President-Elect of the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation (APMF), and Steering Committee of the Council of Affiliated Menopause Societies (CAMS). She is in the CPG Developmental Group for the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Management of Menopause in Malaysia, published in 2010 and 2022.

She graduated with Doctor in Medicine and Masters in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the National University of Malaysia. She subsequently obtained the MRCOG and a Fellowship (FRCOG) from the London Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.

Given her passion for women’s health, Dr. Ho holds a Master’s Degree in Anti-aging, Aesthetic Medicine, and Regenerative Medicine, Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, and Fellowship in Robotic Surgery.

Her awards include the ‘Kesatria Setia DiRaja’ and the ‘Great Women of Our Time 2010’.


Vice-President

Dr Nik Hazlina Nik Hussain is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University Sains Malaysia (USM). She obtained her medical degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and postgraduate training in MMed (O&G) from USM. She completed her fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Royal Women’s Hospital and Melbourne In-vitro Fertilization (IVF), Australia. She was the Head of the Women’s Health Development Unit, School of Medical Sciences, USM till the end of 2021. Her main research areas are reproductive endocrinology, sexual health, women’s health, and integrative medicine.

She is an active writer with more than 80 publications at the national and international levels and has authored and co-authored more than 40 books in Malay and English. She is also a creative writer, published medical novels and anthologies, and a regular newspaper columnist.

She has been a member of the Human Research and Ethics Committee USM since 2011. She has been a national research grant assessor for more than ten years. She was the external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including Ph.D. thesis at national and international levels.

She is the editorial board member of O&G (for Frontiers in Medicine & Surgery), BMC Pregnancy & Childbirth, and honorary book reviewer for university and national publishers. She is also on the editorial committee for the Clinical Practice Guideline for Management of Menopause in Malaysia.


Honorary Treasurer

Ms Hoh Kim Hyan is the current Honorary Treasurer of the Malaysian Menopause Society. Previously she served as an internal auditor of the Malaysian Menopause Society for 2 years. She is a Chartered Accountant with membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. She has been with the Big 4 accounting firm in the audit division for over 15 years and has had a two-year stint with the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board.


Honorary Secretary

Ms Eleen Ong Bee Suat is a state registered nurse (SRN) with a Degree in nursing and midwifery from the Hospital of the National University of Malaysia (HUKM). She has worked as a registered nurse at Assunta Hospital in Kuala Lumpur for over twenty years. Eleen is very passionate about helping menopausal women and has been serving the Malaysian Menopause Society as Vice President, Executive Council and Honorary Secretary for more than ten years.
