Celebrating the 2024 IMS Young Scholars Bursary Recipients

The International Menopause Society (IMS) is proud to announce the 52 recipients of the Young Scholars Bursary, representing 24 countries, who attended the 19th World Congress on Menopause in Melbourne, Australia.

The work of these early-career healthcare professionals is aligned with the IMS’s mission to promote and support access to best practice health care for women through their menopause transition and post-reproductive years, enabling them to achieve optimal health and well-being.

Meet the 2024 Recipients

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find the profiles of each recipient of the Bursary.  We also want to recognise eleven additional bursary recipients who, due to unforeseen circumstances, were unable to attend the Congress: –

  • Apurba Kumar Dutta – India

Supporting Early-Career Professionals

Funded through the IMS Endowment for Education and Research (EER), the Young Scholars Bursary provides essential travel assistance and opportunities for these young scholars to:

  • Attend the Congress with complimentary registration
  • Receive financial support for travel and accommodation
  • Co-chair an abstract oral communication session
  • Participate in the Menopause Olympics
  • Gain a complimentary one-year Associate Membership to the IMS, with access to the Climacteric journal

The IMS is committed to encouraging and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals to advance their careers and contribute to the future of women’s health globally. The bursary program is a crucial step in helping these scholars build connections, share their research, and gain valuable experience.

Help Us Bring More Scholars to Rio 2026

This vital support for early-career healthcare professionals is only possible due to the generous contributions to the IMS Endowment for Education and Research. As we look ahead to the next World Congress in 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, we invite you to donate to the fund, ensuring that more young scholars can attend, share their work, and make a positive contribution to the field.
