The International Menopause Society (IMS) established the Council of Affiliated Menopause Societies (CAMS) to support the delivery of the Society’s Mission and Vision. CAMS is comprised of national and regional menopause societies. CAMS also provides support to establish menopause societies in areas where there are none.

CAMS has the following objectives:

  1. To establish connectivity and partnership working across the national and regional menopause societies and with the IMS.
  2. To actively engage in the delivery of IMS educational activities, events and World Congress, to support the development of new initiatives, and to encourage membership to the IMS within their country/region.

The vision of the doctor who attends to women during the climacteric and menopause must be comprehensive, and that adequate accompaniment and management of women at this transcendental moment of their lives, requires knowing the different aspects of cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, metabolic, endocrine, sexual, genitourinary health, psychological, etc., in order to offer a better quality of life; for which, the preparation and knowledge of professionals specialized in this area of Gynecology is imperative, even more so knowing that scientific progress in this regard is very vast and promising.

That is why, the Ecuadorian Society of Climacteric, Menopause and Osteoporosis seeks precisely to meet these objectives in the joint work of patients and professionals, offering the best possible individual option for each of them in this important stage of their lives.
